My ramblings about my infertility treatment. I never wrote a blog before. I'm a 35 year old woman hoping to have my first baby this year. My boyfriend is a cancer survivor so IVF is our best option right now.

Fifteen Pounds? WTF?

So, I weighed myself today and since starting with stims at the beginning of this month, I've gained 15 pounds?!? I haven't gained 15 pounds in 3 weeks in my entire life. Before starting, my weight was steady. I  don't have any of the OHSS symptoms, so it's either water weight gain or my metabolism has gone insane. And I don't mean to complain, but it seems really excessive to me.

  1. Hi there, just visiting from ICLW :)
I gained a bit of weight too over the month of my IVF cycle, but they were very sure to warn me about gaining weight after my egg collection in case of OHSS-even if I had no other symptoms-so if you're unsure, definitely ring your clinic to be on the safe side!
I love the poem in your last post by the way,
best of luck and hope your 2ww goes nice and quick with a BFP at the end :)

  2. Here from ICLW. I'm 2dp5dt myself...wait wait wait! My clinic makes us wait until 17 days past ER for a beta. Like hell. I'm POAS daily. My trigger finally vanished yesterday, and today was stark white as well.

I notice on your dos/don'ts list, you did not mention my big "do", which is: make your partner do all the dishes and laundry.

    What? That's vital!

  3. Hi - I found you on Cyclesistas; I am transferring on Feb 1 so hopefully we will be preggos together! All the hormones they pump into us definately can result in weight gain, so I wouldn't get too concerned but you may want to bring it up next time you're in. Love the poem, one of my favs too.

    Good luck on the wait!

  4. Sorry to hear that. I have no experience yet about those things. Hopefully it will go away when you are done with medication. Fingers crossed for a BFP.
